I lived in Albuquerque, New Mexico for a couple of years and was very fortunate to have worked for Robert Slattery, a well known New Mexico builder. This project was a major remodel and addition to the home of a radiologist and museum curator, who have lived in the house since it was built in the late 1970’s.
They wanted to change the dark, heavy look of the original pueblo style interior to a lighter, more airy and colorful aesthetic that is reflective of their tastes at this time in their lives. Designer Rob Strell of Strell Designs accomplished an amazing transformation. The project won an award in 2000 from the Homebuilder’s Association of Central New Mexico.
